Similar to previous years, ACC Basketball as a conference once again brought in some of the nation’s top recruiting classes during the 2022 cycle, a group obviously headlined by a Duke class that ranked No. 1 nationally.

Here are five names to know from those classes, each of which will be among the most impactful freshman in the ACC during the 2022-23 season.

  • Judah Mintz – Syracuse Orange
  • Kimari Lands – Louisville Cardinals 
  • Rodney Rice – Virginia Tech Hokies
  • AJ Casey – Miami Hurricanes

5. Dior Johnson – Pittsburgh Panthers

Yes, there are obviously numerous other names such as the four mentioned above that could very easily be on this list here at No. 5. However, the countdown of ACC Basketball impact freshmen to know entering 2022-23 begins here with Johnson.

A highly-rated four-star point guard, Johnson comes to Pittsburgh as one of the highest-rated recruits in Panthers program history, one who could easily be one of Pitt’s top scorers in 2022-23. At 6-foot-3, you will simply be hard to find an incoming freshman guard in ACC Basketball this season with a more impressive overall game than Johnson, making the four-star a must-see player from day one at Pittsburgh.
