4. Kyle Filipowski – Duke Blue Devils

For a Duke class that was the nation’s best during the 2023 cycle, the Blue Devils as you’d assume are well represented on this list. The first of those names to know as well is that of Filipowski, a five-star prospect and top-five national player who could be a significant piece of the Blue Devils’ frontcourt this season.

The potential starter at power forward for the Blue Devils, not only is Filipowski a mismatch problem for opposing defenses inside at 6-foot-11 and 230 pounds, but the Duke freshman is also a threat to extend the floor and shoot from the outside. One half of ACC Basketball’s top freshman frontcourt duo, Filipowski could very well lead Duke in rebounding this season, as well as become a double-digit scorer on the other end of the floor.

3. JJ Starling – Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Outside of any name in Duke’s 2022 class, Starling might be the biggest to know among any freshman in ACC Basketball this season. Why you ask? Well, not only is Starling a five-star prospect, but the freshman also comes to Notre Dame as the highest-rated recruit to ever commit to the Fighting Irish.

One of the most exciting combo guards in the 2022 class at 6-foot-4, Starling has the potential to play a significant role for the Fighting Irish in 2022-23, similar to that of Blake Wesley a year ago. A player who could be among the Fighting Irish’s leaders in scoring, Starling will likely start for Notre Dame this season as a freshman, and could easily end up being one of ACC Basketball’s top freshman this season.
