Basketball is popular in nearly every corner of the globe. In the United States, NCAA Basketball gives us those highly anticipated moments and matchups, previewing some of the players who are going to star at the NBA and professional scale for years to come. Different names come and go from the game each and every season, and they come from all over the world.

Today is the second article in our ongoing series, focusing on some of the best college basketball players of the last ten years from each state. Again, we’re only focused on the last decade of basketball, limiting ourselves to a more realistic window to research. Plus, these are the players that are the most fresh in our memory.

Today’s focus is on Alaska, certainly one of those corners of the country that we don’t exactly picture as a hotbed for basketball. Alaska is the only US state that does not contain a D1 team, meaning each of these players traveled thousands of miles away from home or their hometown to play collegiately. The talent pool in Alaska may not be as impressive as some of the other states, but there are still ten intriguing players to examine.

A final note is just a review on how this project works. Just because a player was born in a state or went to high school or prep school there doesn’t necessarily mean that they qualify under that state. Players were included in states based upon their hometowns, meaning that if you think someone obvious is missing then they are likely listed under a different state. Without further ado, let’s get right into the best players we’ve seen that have come down from Alaska.
