Thousands and thousands of high school basketball players across the country dream of playing NCAA basketball, but only a handful of that mass get the chance at the D1 level. Many dream of playing in the NCAA Tournament or being one of those impact players that programs remember for decades to come. Collegiate careers only last four (or five) years, but legacies can last a lot longer.

We continue our long-term series, looking at the best college players of the last ten years from each state, with today’s focus on the state of Arizona. To reiterate, these are the best college basketball players who were raised in the state of Arizona; not the best ones who played at schools in Arizona. The list may have some Wildcats and Sun Devils, but there are other colleges represented as well.

Phoenix is one of the largest cities in the United States and has given us a handful of impressive players in recent memory, and we’ll be taking a closer look at some of those impact players today. Remember that there’s no specific formula for picking which players are represented, it’s just based on career achievements and personal accolades and little things like that play a major role. Unlike with states like Alaska, most of these players are recent names that will be remembered.

Before we proceed with the rankings, this is just one final note about how the series is formatted. Someone born in Arizona doesn’t necessarily fall into the Arizona category. It’s all about where their hometown is listed, and we went through the hometowns of every player across the last ten seasons to make these rankings. If you’re expected to see someone from Arizona, it’s likely they either missed the cut or aren’t actually in the Arizona list. Anyways, we proceed with these ten players from the state of Arizona.
