3. Moses Moody – Arkansas

A 6’6 guard from Little Rock, Moody was yet another star from the Natural State who stayed home and played for the Razorbacks. A top 50 recruit, Moody was one of Eric Musselman’s prized pieces on his first recruiting class at Arkansas. Moody arrived on campus in 2020 and played just his freshman season, but he certainly made his presence known during that one season.

Statistically speaking, Moody was solid, averaging 16.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, while ranking amongst the best in the SEC at offensive rebounds, field goals, and a few other analytical stats. He scored in double figures in all but four of his collegiate games, hitting a career-high 28 points on four different occasions, all against conference foes. While he struggled in the Sweet Sixteen against Oral Roberts, Moody did help lead the Razorbacks to their first Elite Eight appearance in twenty-six years.

Moody was named SEC Rookie of the Year and was a member of the All-SEC First Team, two excellent accolades for any player’s first (and only) season of basketball. He had one of the finest seasons in all of college basketball for freshmen that season and ranked in the Top 5 nationally in made free throws. Moody was drafted by the Golden State Warriors and already has an NBA ring to his name, making minor contributions during the Warriors’ recent title run.
