In a few months, NCAA Basketball will return to the courts and to television screens across the nation. Until that time, we’re still in this eventful offseason of transfer and other movement. When the dust settles, which it already has for numerous programs, there will be over 360 rosters full of players, with many new faces to the collegiate game.

Today, our focus isn’t on these new players, but on the players who have come before them. We’ll be continuing our series that looks at the best college basketball players of the last ten years for each individual state, and today’s a special state. California is the largest state in the United States and therefore has produced a ton of basketball talent at the high school level. The task to decide the top ten has not been an easy one.

Compared to the previous articles already published in this series, California is a different animal. There are dozens, perhaps hundreds, of players who would have easily made the list in a state like Alaska who weren’t even considered in today’s rankings. California has produced a ton of talent, especially in Southern California, and we’ve seen some stars emerge from those courts and streets.

As a final note, it’s important to remember that this is an article about the best players from the state of California, not the best Golden Bears, or even players that played at colleges in California. Additionally, the criteria is hometown, so a player may have been born in or attended a high school or prep school in California; that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll see them on today’s list. Without further ado, let’s get right into these ten players.
