NCAA Basketball: 10 best players from state of Colorado of last decade
By Joey Loose
1. Josh Scott – Colorado
A Top 50 recruit and a talented forward from the town of Monument, it was the Pac-12 for Scott, who played four seasons under Tad Boyle at Colorado. He arrived on campus in 2012 and was a four-year starter for the Buffaloes, making a dynamic impact for a program that made three NCAA Tournament appearances during his career.
Scott racked up the points, rebounds, and blocks during his career, averaging 10.3 points as a freshman and only improving from there. He averaged at least 14 points and 8 rebounds in each of his final three seasons while racking up 161 blocks as well. He had a ton of double-doubles and impact performances, including his final game, a 23-point, 11-rebound effort against UConn in the NCAA Tournament. He was also 5th in the Pac-12 as a senior with his 16.3 points per game.
He was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team as both a sophomore and senior, missing time as a junior due to injuries. He still ranks among the Buffaloes program leaders in categories like points, blocks, rebounds, and games played, while also appearing in three NCAA Tournaments, a very solid mark. Undrafted in 2016, Scott has spent his last six years playing professionally overseas, though it’s fitting that this Colorado native had such an impact on the Buffaloes.
