9. Tyrn Flowers – Massachusetts / LIU

Flowers is a 6’9 forward from Waterbury who originally committed to play at UMass back in 2016. After a coaching change, Flowers transferred, sitting out the following season before spending four years on the roster at LIU under Derek Kellogg, his former coach at UMass. With the Blackbirds and Sharks, he was an impact player, much like Clark in the previous slide, and certainly made his mark on this LIU program.

Flowers was a role player with the Minutemen, but he got his chance to shine at LIU. He averaged no less than 13 points in each of his four seasons at LIU, working those rebound numbers to an impressive 9.6 per game in 2020, his second year with the program. Among his impressive performances were a 36-point outing at Sacred Heart and a 30-point, 15-rebound effort in a win against Fairleigh Dickinson, with both of those performances coming this previous season, his extra COVID year.

All four of those seasons saw Flowers named to the All-NEC team, finally earning First Team honors in his final season. He led the conference in 3-point field goal percentage as well as effective field goal percentage while finishing top 10 in rebounds in each season. Flowers exhausted his eligibility this past year and it remains to be seen what his next move will be, but he was an important piece for this LIU program the past four seasons.
