9. Jamorko Pickett – Georgetown
After starring at prep school in nearby Virginia, Pickett was a forward prospect garnering attention before committing to Georgetown back in 2017. Originally a commit to Ole Miss, the four-star prospect switched to the Hoyas, playing four seasons under former Georgetown legend Patrick Ewing in the Big East. Pickett was a four-year starter for the Hoyas, starting all but ten games across his time with the Hoyas.
As his career progressed, Georgetown wasn’t exactly a successful program, but Pickett was still making strides, averaging 10.2 points and 6.3 rebounds as a junior and improving on those numbers as a senior. He had an impressive 19-point, 18-rebound affair against Coppin State early in his senior year, though it was the final weeks that stood out. Pickett helped lead the Hoyas to an unexpected Big East Tournament title, including a 19-point effort in the semifinals over Seton Hall.
Pickett shined early and was named to the Big East All-Freshman Team. He was a decent scorer, shooting just over 35% from long distance in all four of his seasons, while his 82% clip from the free throw line as a senior was impressive. Additionally, he led the entire Big East in defensive rebounds as a senior. Pickett’s college career just ended last year, but he’s already made strides at the next level, playing a small handful of games with the Detroit Pistons this season.
