NCAA Basketball: 10 best players from the District of Columbia of last decade

8. Dante Harris – Georgetown
Himself a 6’0 guard that starred at high school in Tennessee, Harris was an underrated prospect who found his way to Georgetown, enrolling at the school in 2020. The first two seasons of his collegiate career have passed and Harris has already made his mark on the program, though this is hopefully just the beginning for him and his basketball career.
Harris was a contributor as a freshman, working his way into the starting lineup by mid-December, with a season-high 22 points in his first career start against St. John’s. Later in the year, Harris had a run of nice performances in the Big East Tournament, helping lead the Hoyas to that unexpected conference title. This past season, he averaged 11.9 points and 4.1 assists per game, performing well even as the Hoyas mightily struggled as a team.
For those efforts late in his freshman year, Harris was named Big East Tournament MVP and made a certain impact as a freshman on the squad. Last year’s 0-19 finish in conference play was abysmal, but Harris looked to be a talented piece for Georgetown to turn things around. As a sophomore, he was Top 10 in the Big East in both steals and assists and those numbers should only increase with better players around him moving forward.
