2. Grayson Allen – Duke

One of the players everyone loved to hate, Allen starred at Duke, making himself quite the villain in college basketball. A 6’4 guard from Jacksonville, Allen was a four-star prospect who opted for the Blue Devils, arriving on campus in 2014. He spent the full four seasons under Mike Krzyzewski and achieved some pretty great things across his four seasons, starting with a national championship as a menial contributor his freshman year.

He worked his way into a star as a sophomore, averaging 21.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for the defending champions. He actually scored 16 points in their title game win over Wisconsin before that breakout season. Among his other finest moments was a career-high 37 points in a win over Michigan State as a senior. Allen’s individual stats weren’t as impressive in his final two seasons, but he was still an important piece of this Duke team for those years.

Not just a national champion, Allen was also All-ACC First Team as a sophomore, leading the entire conference in points and 3-point field goal percentage. He was an efficient shooter and important piece for the Blue Devils, even if some tripping incidents overshadowed some of his success. He was drafted in the first round by the Utah Jazz in 2018 and is now four years into an NBA career that seems to get better with each passing season.
