Around the world, basketball is an impact sport. There are young children across the globe shooting hoops where they can or picking up a basketball and falling in love with this sport. In every reach of the United States, and perhaps even further, the excitement of NCAA Basketball and the NCAA Tournament can be felt. Who wouldn’t want the chance to star on that big stage and bring home glory in March Madness?

Like we said, it’s a sport that people play around the world, and that certainly includes the middle of the Pacific. Today is the next piece in our continuing series looking at the best college basketball player from each state, with our focus on the state of Hawaii. Thousands of miles away from the contiguous United States, Hawaii is still a part of this country and has produced some solid basketball talent.

However, this article will be different than the first dozen or so in this series. Researching for this entire series was a very lengthy process, but unfortunately, the number of impact players from Hawaii was much lower than even the average state. We mean this with no disrespect to any basketball players, but there weren’t enough names on the list to justify ranking the top ten, so this piece will only focus on the five best players from the Aloha State.

This is just a reminder that this article is not about the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, though they may come up in the slides ahead. Today’s piece is about the players whose hometowns are in Hawaii; some of these guys didn’t live in Hawaii for long, but it was enough for Hawaii to be listed as their hometowns in the relevant places. Without further ado, let’s get into these names of the best basketball players from Hawaii; perhaps you’ll learn something new about these young names and faces.
