1. Justice Sueing – California / Ohio State

There’s no doubt that Sueing has been the impact player from the state of Hawaii, as the 6’7 forward has been a prominent piece at multiple power conference programs. He arrived on campus at California way back in 2017, spending two years with the Golden Bears before transferring to Ohio State. He’d sit out a year and lose most of this past season to injury, with one last year of eligibility looming for Sueing even after what he’s accomplished.

Sueing started all but one game in each of his two seasons at California, averaging 13.8 and 14.3 points per game respectively in those two seasons. He had career-high 27-point performances in each season before departing the school in 2019. During his junior season at Ohio State, he was a full-time starter who averaged 10.7 points per game for a Buckeyes squad that made the NCAA Tournament. Unfortunately, an injury knocked him out of the next season after just two games.

At both schools, we’ve seen Sueing’s ability on both sides of the ball, with very solid scoring averages in each of his three full seasons of college ball. He was one of the better true shooters in the Big Ten during that junior season and has finished Top 10 in both leagues in free throw percentage. He’ll return to Ohio State next season for one final campaign, hoping that he can get another full season of basketball under his belt and make even more of an impact in the Big Ten.
