10. Will Bogan – Ole Miss / Valparaiso

Our focus begins with Bogan, a 6’1 guard from Boise who endeared himself as a talented shooter throughout his career. He was recruited to Ole Miss under Andy Kennedy, playing parts of three seasons with the Rebels. In 2011, he transferred to Valparaiso and had a much more significant role for the Crusaders across his final two collegiate seasons.

As a freshman, he appeared in every game but had minimal contributions for the Rebels, minus a breakout 16-point performance in a win at Arkansas. After missing most of the next season due to injury and barely playing the following year, he transferred to Valparaiso and started nearly every game across two seasons. He averaged 6.8 points per game across his two seasons with the Crusaders and hit just over 40% of his 3-point attempts, with a 23-point game as a junior in which he hit seven 3-pointers.

Bogan was one of the Horizon League’s better 3-point shooters for those final two seasons, and it’s clearly his efforts at Valparaiso that got him included on this list. He wasn’t utilized in the SEC, but found his spot as a ranged shooter for the Crusaders, helping lead the program to the NCAA Tournament in 2013. Bogan wasn’t a star, but he was a cog that fit well into the overall machine when he found his fit in the Horizon League.
