NCAA Basketball: 10 best players from state of Idaho of last decade
By Joey Loose
3. Connor Hill – Idaho
Sometimes, the best shooters just need to shoot and that was certainly true for Hill, a 6’3 guard originally from Post Falls. Hill didn’t go far for his collegiate career, playing for his home-state Vandals at Idaho from 2011 to 2015. He arrived on campus as a shooter with a ton of potential and by the time he left he had rewritten a few record books.
A bench player his freshman campaign, Hill worked his way into the starting lineup for his final three seasons, averaging no less 12 points per game in each season. He also worked his way into one of the best sharpshooting guards in the country. He had a career-high 32 points as a senior against rival Idaho State and had numerous performances with six or more 3-point buckets.
Named All-Big Sky Second Team as a senior and All-WAC Third Team as a junior, Hill led both conferences in 3-point field goal percentage, becoming one of the most efficient shooters in WAC history. He was also one of the most effective shooters in the entire nation as a senior, certainly proving to be an important piece as the Vandals transitioned conferences. Hill left school as best 3-point shooter in Idaho school history while also putting his name in great shape atop a number of program leaderboards.
