7. Mason Plumlee – Duke

A five-star recruit, this 6’10 big man originally from Warsaw was one of the three brothers to play college basketball, but this Plumlee really stood out. He arrived on campus at Duke way back in 2009, playing four seasons under Mike Krzyzewski for the Blue Devils and having himself quite the career along the way.

Plumlee was a bench player as a freshman, and had a few solid performances, but was part of the team that won the 2010 national championship for the Blue Devils. He was a starter his last three seasons, becoming a real impact player by his senior year. That season saw him average 17.1 points and 9.9 rebounds per game, with numerous double-doubles and dynamic outings for the Blue Devils.

For that senior season, he was named to the All-ACC First Team and was a Second Team All-American. He was vital for several seasons in the interior offense, and ranks among the all-time ACC leaders in rebounds and blocks. He also led the conference in 2-point field goals during that senior season. A late first-round pick by the Brooklyn Nets, he’s spent the last nine seasons contributing in the NBA, most recently with the Charlotte Hornets.
