5. Trevon Bluiett – Xavier

Not just a 6’6 forward from Indianapolis, Bluiett was a top 40 prospect who found significant success not just at the high school level but in the collegiate game as well. He was a recruit of Chris Mack, playing under him at Xavier between 2014 and 2018 during one of the program’s most prosperous runs of success.

A frontcourt starter basically from the beginning, Bluiett was a double-digit scorer all four seasons while also putting up decent rebounding numbers. He scored at least 16 points in his first five career games, and later had three games with more than 20 points during Xavier’s Elite Eight run in 2017. A talented shooter and scorer, he helped Xavier win more than 100 games during his four seasons and was certainly one of the most important pieces the entire time.

Bluiett was a three-time honoree of the All-Big East First Team and was a Second Team All-American his senior year. He helped lead the Musketeers to a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and three times honored on the All-Big East Tournament team. He led the league in 3-point shooting as a junior and was one of the best shooters throughout his collegiate tenure. Undrafted, Bluiett spent the last few seasons playing professional overseas, while Xavier has yet to return to the Big Dance since his departure.
