NCAA Basketball: 10 best players from state of Indiana of last decade
By Joey Loose
3. Trayce Jackson-Davis – Indiana
A 6’9 forward from Greenwood, Jackson-Davis was a top 30 recruit back in 2019 and expected to be an important contributor wherever he landed. Jackson-Davis settled on Indiana, playing first under coach Archie Miller and more recently under Mike Woodson. He’s made the expected impact with the Hoosiers and has recently developed into a superstar in the sport, with one last season to make an even bigger splash.
Indiana got a special player, and Jackson-Davis was already a vital contributor as a freshman, averaging 13.5 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. He’s really developed into one of the best big men in the game in recent years, averaging 19.1 and 18.3 points per game respectively in the last two seasons. He had a 43-point performance against Marshall, a 31-point, 16-rebound effort at Syracuse, and dropped 29 points on Wyoming during Indiana’s first NCAA Tournament win in half a decade.
Jackson-Davis has been All-Big Ten each of the last three seasons and was on the conference’s All-Defense team this past season. He’s already charging up the all-time conference leaderboards in field goals and rebounds and led the nation in 2-point field goals last year. Jackson-Davis announced that he would be back for his senior season next year and is an early favorite to be the Big Ten’s best player.
