Coach Archie Miller and his staff continue to build for the future of Rhode Island basketball with the addition of Connor Dubsky.

The Virginia native announced his commitment to the University of Rhode Island through his personal social media pages on Friday. The 6-foot-4 guard chose the Rams over the likes of the  George Washington Colonials,  Kansas State Wildcats, and Maryland Terrapins.

Dubsky starred at St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes in Virginia prior to joining the three-time National Champion Putnam Science Academy Mustangs. He will return to the Connecticut powerhouse for his final high school season this year.

Rhode Island assistant Kenny Johnson has been connected to Dubsky since his time as head coach of National Christian Academy in Maryland.

Dubsky displays a high basketball IQ as an elite defender and he is an unpredictable three-level scorer which will benefit the Rams’ backcourt in the future.

He joins forwards KC Nwafor and Adrian Myers as Rhode Island’s third commit of the Class of 2023.

Nwafor is a 6-foot-7 forward from Rotorua, New Zealand. The Nigerian native is very mobile inside the paint and impactful when protecting the rim.

Myers is a 6-foot-7 forward out of Stephens City, Virginia. He demonstrates versatility and speed on both ends of the floor.

Connor Dubsky and Adrian Myers join current Rams, Anthony Harris, Brayon Freeman, Ishmael Leggett, Abdou Samb, and Louis Hutchinson to all hail from the DMV area.

The Rams are currently connected to Teaneck, New Jersey native Cam Estevez. The 6-foot-4 guard is heading into his final season at Canterbury School in Connecticut.

Coach Archie Miller and his staff have retained six players from last year heading into this season. This offseason they have added nine players to their roster via the NCAA transfer portal, high school, and international recruitment.

Next. A-10 offseason grades. dark

Although Rhode Island has emerged as one of the younger programs in the Atlantic 10 Conference, the future is certainly bright in Kingston. We can expect the Rams to continue to add to their talented, young core throughout the Archie Miller era.
