9. Joe Wieskamp – Iowa

This 6’6 guard from Muscatine was a highly-touted four-star recruit who opted to stay home and play for the Hawkeyes. Wieskamp arrived at Iowa in 2018 and spent three seasons playing an important role in the backcourt of the Hawkeyes, starting all 97 games of his collegiate career.

Wieskamp had a very nice freshman campaign, and got even better in his final seasons, averaging at least 14 points and 6 rebounds per game in his sophomore and junior years. As a freshman, he had a 19-point performance in an NCAA Tournament win over Cincinnati. He had numerous double-doubles, including a 26-point, 11-rebound effort in a win against Maryland. He was always the second option on the offense to Luka Garza, but he played his role well and was an impressive shooter, converting 46% of his 3-pointers as a junior.

A member of the All-Big Ten teams in each of his final two seasons, he led the conference in free throw percentage as a sophomore and was one of the best long-range shooters throughout his career. He ranks among the most consistent shooters in Iowa and Big Ten history. He was a second-round draft pick by the San Antonio Spurs, playing in just over a third of the Spurs’ NBA games this past season.
