2. Terry Taylor – Austin Peay

Over the last decade, the OVC was dominated by Belmont and Murray State and the star players on both of those teams, but Taylor wasn’t going to be overlooked. This 6’5 guard from Bowling Green made his way to Austin Peay in 2017 and didn’t leave the college game until he had made his mark, not just on the Governors’ program but on the OVC as a whole.

Taylor was a full-time starter across four seasons and was quite possibly the best scorer in the conference throughout his career. After averaging 15.6 points per game as a freshman, he eclipsed 20 points a game in each of his final three seasons. He helped lead the Governors to a pair of 20-win seasons and had numerous dynamic performances, including a 26-point, 23-rebound effort at Belmont and a 42-point, 18-rebound affair at Morehead State.

Taylor was the OVC Player of the Year in both his junior and senior seasons and was All-OVC First Team three times. He led the conference in points and rebounds on multiple occasions, and led the entire nation with 139 offensive rebounds as a senior. He remains the OVC’s all-time leader in offensive rebounds and field goals and will keep his place in program, conference, and national record books for some time. Undrafted, Taylor saw action with the Indiana Pacers this past season.
