9. Trevon Faulkner – Northern Kentucky

The last decade has seen Northern Kentucky rise from a complete afterthought to one of the best programs in the Horizon League, and players like Faulkner are a major reason why. A 6’3 guard from Harrodsburg, Faulkner stayed in his home state to play for the Norse, joining then-head coach John Brannen’s team back in 2018, having starred for the Norse for much of the last four years.

Faulkner spent much of his freshman season in the starting lineup, but it wasn’t until his sophomore year that he became an important offensive contributor. Faulkner averaged double-digit points in each of his next three seasons, but it was his junior year that stood out. During that season, he averaged 16.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, including his first double-double in a win over UIC.

Twice named to the Horizon League’s All-Tournament Team, he’s also been named to the All-Horizon League Second Team and has helped usher the Norse into their next era. He’s started virtually every game in his career and is an important piece on this roster. Fortunately for the Norse, Faulkner will return next year for his bonus COVID season, hoping to lead the Norse to one last trip to the Big Dance.
