When it comes to the best “true centers” in the 2023 NCAA Basketball recruiting class, Baye Fall has a case to be made that he’s No. 1. Already a consensus five-star prospect and ranked in the top-20 overall, the 7’0 big man as cemented his status as a top-tier player among his players.

Originally from Senegal, Fall plays his high school in the state of Colorado, where he’s been a dominant force on both ends. He’s a tremendous rim protector and defender, comfortable blocking shots and dealing with switches. On offense, he runs the floor well and is a lob threat as well. Once Fall fully grows into his body, he’ll be an instant impact player at the NCAA Basketball level.

With the latest update from Fall, we’re now down to seven teams in the running. There are a reported couple of teams that are out in front but until he makes a commitment, everyone is still in the game. Something else to consider is his cousin and high school teammate, Assane Diop. He also has a final eight and there’s a chance that these two could play together in college.

So how does Fall fit with each of these potential options? Here’s a closer look at all seven.

Arkansas Razorbacks

The Razorbacks brought on four frontcourt transfers this offseason but three of them are likely one-year rentals. That includes the Mitchell twins (Makhel and Makhi) and Jalen Graham, all of whom play the five-spot. The team also has sophomore forward Trevon Brazile but he’s a potential pro candidate if he has a breakout campaign.

Arkansas can use a true center like Fall and needs multiple big men as well. The roster is set to take both him and Diop in the same class and give them both big minutes as freshmen. Fall would be playing for Coach Eric Musselman and a program that’s on the rise nationally after two straight Elite 8s. It’s a big platform for the prospect and there will be plenty of playing time as well.
