NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing the final 7 teams for 5-star center Baye Fall
Seton Hall Pirates
New head coach Shaheen Holloway has good experience working with big men, including multiple-time MAAC Defensive Player KC Ndefo at Saint Peter’s. He’s followed his coach over to Seton Hall as a 5th-year transfer, meaning that the center position will be wide open for someone like Fall to come in and have an impact.
The defense-first system that the Pirates will have certainly would be a fit for the five-star big man and he could play for a consistent contender in the Big East. Seton Hall may not have as big of a national profile compared to a couple of other options but in terms of development and focusing on his strengths, Fall and the Pirates would be a good match.
Texas Longhorns
The only true center on the roster for Texas is 6’7 senior Christian Bishop, so the position would be wide open for Fall if he picked them. It’s another system that values defense under head coach Chris Beard and the Longhorns have a big national profile that would make the big man a known commodity.
There’s plenty else to like about Texas, including playing in the Big 12, being on a consistent top-20 and NCAA Tournament team, and playing for one of the better coaching staffs in the country. The one concern is that guards usually take priority in the Longhorns’ offense and centers for Coach Beard usually are just defenders and not much more but with Fall’s potential, he could be the best that the coach has had.
