Wildens Leveque (UMass Minutemen)

In an era where teams look increasingly unfamiliar each season, perhaps no team in the A10 will have a newer look than UMass. Noah Fernandes should continue his duties as the team’s star, but outside of him and TJ Weeks, essentially the entire rotation will consist of transfers and freshmen.

Perhaps the most intriguing newcomer for the Minutemen is a player that followed new HC Frank Martin on his journey north from South Carolina: Senior big man Wildens Leveque. The 6’10” Center is a bouncy dunker and interior defender, but he also possesses solid footwork down low and can’t be left open for 12-15 footers.

With so many talented transfers joining the Minutemen this offseason, Leveque was one of several players that might have made this list, but what made him the clear choice is UMass’ relatively thin depth on the block compared to the Guard and Wing positions. Leveque averaged 6.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game last season on a solid SEC squad, and with perhaps the second-most minutes on the team (behind Noah Fernandes) headed his way, there’s reason to believe those numbers will be greatly increased in the Atlantic 10.
