The NCAA basketball season regularly delivers. Even when there aren’t games, the news is often abuzz with transfers and coaching updates and all sorts of other stories and movement. While most of the nation’s attention is on the sport during March, the NCAA Tournament isn’t the only incredible part of college basketball. There are more than 350 D1 teams and each of them has a story to tell, with some of them even getting a chance to tell that story and shine on the national stage.

These teams would be nothing without the young men who make up their rosters, and there’s certainly a variety of athletes that comprise these teams. We’ll be looking at a few more of those athletes as we continue our series looking at the best college basketball players of the last ten years from each individual state. We’re nearly two dozen articles deep, continuing to run through these states in alphabetical order, landing on today’s focus in Michigan.

There has certainly been some impressive basketball in Michigan at the high school level, with high talent in Detroit and some of the other major cities and towns in the state. In recent years, there’s been a flurry of talented players that have gone from high school onto the college game, and it’s a shame we’re limited to ten because there was certainly a greater number that deserved the spotlight.

While part of this article may not seem like it, this is a focus on players whose hometowns are from Michigan, not those who went to high school or college in the state. Michigan State fans will be rewarded later in the piece, but there’s a wide variety of colleges represented by these ten players. Without further ado, let’s start running through the names on this list, keeping in mind that these are the best players of the last decade from the state of Michigan.
