NCAA Basketball: 10 best players from state of Minnesota of last decade
By Joey Loose
There always seems to be some sort of action in the NCAA Basketball universe. Obviously, March Madness gets most of the buzz and intrigue from the nation as a whole, but there’s plenty going on beyond the postseason. The Transfer Portal has provided us with plenty of intrigue in recent months, while simple things like the coaching carousel and schedule releases are enough to get fanbases buzzing. What’s certain is that these basketball moments and memories wouldn’t be possible without the players.
Those players can come in drastically different sizes and from extremely different backgrounds. Our focus is today on a very specific background, as we will be continuing our series looking at the best college basketball players from the last decade from each individual state. Even across the United States, there might be drastically different levels of high school basketball, but each state has found its way to produce top-level talent, and that’s no different in Minnesota.
Perhaps it’s a result of having the twin cities, but the state of Minnesota has actually produced some extremely good ball players in recent seasons. The state sometimes seems like an afterthought, but it’s become a bit of a hotbed of basketball talent. Today’s list has a great combination of mid-major stars and players who took their talents to the next level, though all of them came from the Gopher State.
This is not an article about the University of Minnesota, and surprisingly there are no Gophers present on today’s list. Instead, these are all players whose hometowns are from the state of Minnesota, not necessarily their birthplace or high school attended. We’ve done our best to pick the ten who had the best collegiate careers, and there are some really talented guys by the end of the list. Let’s just get right into it, working our way through the best players from Minnesota.
