NCAA Basketball: 10 best players from state of Minnesota of last decade
By Joey Loose
7. Jordair Jett – Saint Louis
This 6’1 guard from St. Paul made himself quite the impact a few hundred miles south of his hometown, playing his entire collegiate career at Saint Louis. Recruited under Rick Majerus, Jett was an important piece for an extended run of success for the Billikens, playing at Saint Louis from 2010 to 2014, appearing in three NCAA Tournaments.
Jett established himself as a steady weapon on offense and a really talented defender. He racked up very solid assists and steals numbers through his four seasons, while barely starting during his sophomore and junior years. He helped lead the Billikens to opening-round NCAA Tournament wins in three straight seasons, scoring 18 points in their win over NC State as a senior. That senior year saw him average 13.9 points and 4.8 assists per game in leading Saint Louis to an impressive 27-7 mark.
Known as an all-around weapon, Jett was on the conference’s All-Defense team each of his final three seasons and was the A-10 Player of the Year for that fantastic senior campaign. He had a monumental impact on the Billikens during one of their finest multi-year runs of success and racked up quite the number of steals along the way. Jett would spend a number of years playing basketball overseas, while Saint Louis entered a bit of a disappointing stretch after his departure from the program.
