18. Michigan Wolverines – Jaelin Llewellyn

There’s no question that All-American returning center Hunter Dickinson will be the No. 1 option on offense for the Wolverines next season. The question is who is No. 2? There’s a lot of unproven underclassmen talent but also a transfer in Llewellyn, who averaged 15.7 ppg and 2.5 rpg on 39% from three-point range at Princeton last season.

He’s the projected starting point guard but he’s more of a pure scorer and at times, an inefficient one. If Llewellyn can’t be a solid point guard in the Big Ten next season while also producing double figures in scoring, Michigan is going to struggle even more than they did last season.

17. Alabama Crimson Tide – Charles Bediako

Alabama has a lot of talented guards on the roster but the guy I’m watching is the sophomore center Bediako, a former five-star prospect that averaged 6.7 ppg and 4.3 rpg last season. He had some big games but overall was a defensive anchor for the Tide. The 7’0 center is a definite breakout candidate and if he looks anywhere near Mark Williams of Duke, the team will be in the top-15 range all of next season.

Even with freshman forward Brandon Miller likely having an impact on offense, the frontcourt comes down to how well Bediako improves as a sophomore. The SEC has tons of quality big men and Bediako has the potential to be one of them, he just has to show it on a consistent basis on both ends.
