12. Texas Longhorns – Dylan Disu

I wanted to go with Iowa State transfer Tyrese Hunter but the questions involving him have to do more with the offensive system under coach Chris Beard. The biggest point of contention with the roster is the frontcourt, which doesn’t have a lot of offensive firepower. Starting center Christian Bishop is more of a defender and his backup is Dylan Disu, who averaged 15.0 ppg and 9.2 rpg at Vanderbilt but dealt with injuries and produced very little with the Longhorns last season.

Texas has potential, including a pair of five-star freshmen prospects in Arterio Morris and Dillon Mitchell. But they need some of these veterans to produce offensively besides Timmy Allen and that includes Disu, who may be the best scoring forward on the roster. But if he doesn’t look anywhere near what he did at Vanderbilt, the team will have to limit his minutes going forward.

11. Indiana Hoosiers – Xavier Johnson

Johnson may be one of the most inconsistent 5th-year veterans in NCAA Basketball, having stretches of brilliance and other stretches of downright bad play. He averaged 17 ppg and shot over 45% from three-point range during the winning streak that allowed the Hoosiers to make the NCAA Tournament and other times looked unplayable in the regular season when Johnson was turning the ball over and not making shots.

Indiana has an All-American candidate in Trayce Jackson-Davis, a pair of five-star freshmen newcomers in Malik Reneau and Jalen Hood-Schifino, and multiple other key returning players. But in reality, all that matters is how Johnson looks in any given game. When he plays well, they’re a top-10 team. When he doesn’t they’re an NIT team.
