1. Ochai Agbaji – Kansas

If this past season did anything, it ensures that Agbaji is unmatched as Missouri’s best player of the last decade. A 6’5 guard from Kansas City, he found his way to the Jayhawks four years ago, spending his time at Kansas starring under Bill Self, with this most recent series the clear highlight.

It didn’t take long for Agbaji to become a starter and to really assert himself in the Jayhawks’ offense. His numbers steadily increased across those four seasons, but we’ll focus much of our energy on that senior year. That season saw him average 18.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game for the conference champion Jayhawks. He had a career-high 37 points in a win against Texas Tech, but it’s his late-season heroics that mattered most, leading Kansas to a Big 12 Tournament title and an NCAA Tournament title, with 21 points in their Final Four win over Villanova.

Not only did Agbaji walk away with a title, but he was named a First Team All-American, Big 12 Player of the Year, and the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player. Agbaji was also Big 12 Tournament MVP and led the conference in points scored and 3-point field goals. An extreme talent who developed into a national star, Agbaji was drafted in the middle of the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft and will look to begin his professional career in a few months for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
