8. Ladan Ricketts – Montana State

A 6’5 forward originally from Livingston, Ricketts found his way to varying levels of success at a pair of schools not too far from his hometown. He began his collegiate career with a pair of seasons at the junior college level, starring at Sheridan College in Wyoming as a fantastic shooter. He took his talents to the D1 level, spending his final seasons of eligibility at Montana State.

As a junior with the Bobcats, he averaged 9.9 points per game and was one of the Big Sky’s most important newcomers. Late in the year, he had a career-high 21-point outing in a win over Southern Utah. Montana State had a pair of decent seasons with Ricketts on the roster, even if his statistics as a senior were less impressive. Still, he was an above average shooter and a useful piece for two different Montana State head coaches.

In the end, he left Sheridan as one of the junior college’s best shooters, but didn’t have the same success or level of opportunities with the Bobcats. Still, he made 45% of his 3-pointers during that junior season, while hitting 91% of his free throws across both seasons. He ranked amongst the Big Sky leaders in those categories. Ricketts has continued his life beyond basketball, but was still a very useful piece for this program.
