There are many different types of basketball players, even at the collegiate level. This isn’t just about the five positions on the court; there are starters, role players, bench mobs, all with different things they bring to the court. Even though the stars have name recognition and fancy accolades, everyone on an NCAA Basketball team is along for the journey that is the NCAA Tournament. It doesn’t matter their background or where they came from; all that matters is that moment.

College basketball players, even the ones who could star at the D1 level, come from all over the place and certainly from each of the 50 states. For today, we’re continuing our series that looks at the best college basketball players of the last decade from each individual state. We’re more than halfway through the series at this point and have already seen a great number of impressive players. We’ve also seen how the level of talent can be different, especially comparing a state like Florida to a state like Hawaii.

Our focus for today is on the state of Nebraska. We’re not looking at the Cornhuskers, who aren’t even represented in today’s article. Instead, we’re focusing on the best college basketball players from this state, focusing on their success and accolades at the D1 level. Nebraska isn’t exactly revered as being a basketball powerhouse or full of people, but there are some top-notch players that you’ll encounter by the end of today’s article.

One final reminder is that we’re looking at the players whose hometowns are from Nebraska; that’s how we’re sorting these players in this series. It doesn’t matter if a player was born in a state or attended high school there; it all depends on their hometown. The players from Nebraska that we’re mentioning today all seemed to stick pretty close to home, but that doesn’t mean they were settling for less, as some of them still had successful careers as mid-major of power conference players. Let’s start meeting them.
