7. Tyler Hagedorn – South Dakota

A 6’10 forward from the Nebraska town of Norfolk, Hagedorn found his way across the border to South Dakota for his collegiate days. He wasn’t seeing a ton of minutes early in his career but really came into his own as an upperclassman. Though he missed his senior season with a significant injury, he made up for it with a very impressive redshirt season in 2020 for the Coyotes.

Under coach Craig Smith, whose now in the Pac-12 at Utah, Hagedorn wasn’t a vital piece initially but played a major role in his junior year. That season saw him average 13.0 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, with a number of impressive performances as South Dakota won 26 games. When he returned from that injury two seasons later, he was even more impressive, averaging 18.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, becoming the leading scorer for the Coyotes.

Hagedorn was named All-Summit League Second Team as a junior and First Team two seasons later as a senior. He led the conference in effective field goal percentage during that final campaign and collected a ton of points, rebounds, and blocks along the way. An impressive and important piece for South Dakota, he has spent the last couple of seasons playing basketball professionally, including time in the G-League.
