5. Jordan Davis – Northern Colorado

A 6’2 guard from Las Vegas, Davis wasn’t exactly attracting the attention of the big teams, winding up at Northern Colorado after originally committing to Eastern Washington. By the time his collegiate career was over, he emerged as an impressive talent, and someone who likely would’ve excelled at the power conference level.

He was a full-time starter from the beginning, putting up a ton of points across his career. The program struggled mightily in his first two seasons, but new coach Jeff Linder utilized Davis and they turned things around. In his junior season, he helped lead the Bears to the CIT title, with a triple-double in a win over Drake and a 29-point effort in the title game over UIC. Davis was truly a standout as a senior, averaging 23.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game, leading the team to a 21-win season and nearly a Big Sky title.

Unsurprisingly, Davis was named Big Sky Player of the Year for that impressive senior season, a year in which he led the conference in points, assists, free throws, field goals, and player efficiency. He was actually named All-Big Sky on three occasions and really helped turn the tide of the Northern Colorado program. After graduating, he’s continued his basketball career at the professional level overseas.
