NCAA Basketball: 10 best players from state of New Hampshire of last decade
By Joey Loose
7. Ian Sistare – Dartmouth
Sistare is a 6’3 guard from Dublin who stayed in the state of New Hampshire, playing collegiately at Dartmouth in the Ivy League. Frankly, Dartmouth hasn’t been a great basketball program for some time now, but Sistare still played an active role in making the Big Green program a little bit better.
He was a bench player his first two seasons, but did have a few standout performances, including a 15-point effort in a loss at Cornell. Sistare became a starter while a junior and had his best season, averaging 10.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Just a few weeks before the pandemic shut down the sports world, Sistare had a career-high 25 points in a road win at Cornell, one of his final collegiate games.
Dartmouth improved across Sistare’s four seasons with the program, which in itself is an impressive feat. His performance as an upperclassman had him among the conference leaders in rebounds, 3-point field goals and player efficiency, though he wasn’t necessarily high on any of those leaderboards. He was a smart and talented guard known for his hustle and hard work. Even though Dartmouth isn’t a great program, Sistare was still a great piece for them during those years.
