Louisville Cardinals

There’s been a lot of offseason talk about new head coach Kenny Payne’s inability to land a guard. But the team is in solid shape in the frontcourt, with Sydney Curry returning for another season and the Cardinals also landing transfer Brandon Huntley-Hatfield from Tennessee. There’s also former top-100 prospect Roosevelt Wheeler on the roster as well.

Even with all this depth, a case can be made that Miranda would be more talented than any of them once he potentially arrives on campus. Plus, Curry could be gone after next season and Huntley-Hatfield has to prove that he can play at the power conference level. And as an added possible bonus, Miranda could play with No. 1 overall prospect DJ Wagner, who Louisville is after hard.

Oregon Ducks

Despite losing three centers in two years in the transfer portal, the Ducks still have plenty of depth at that position. Starting center N’Fally Dante is back for another year, while five-star and potential “one and done” recruit Kel’el Ware is joining the fold. There’s a slight possibility that both bigs could leave after next season, creating a pathway for Miranda to get immediate minutes.

If he would pick Oregon, Miranda would be playing with a pair of five-star forwards in Mookie Cook and Kwame Evans, creating one of the most athletic frontcourts in NCAA Basketball a year from now. Of course, head coach Dana Altman would prefer some older players in the lineup so he could grab a center transfer to balance things out, which would potentially hurt Miranda’s chances of playing.
