13. team. 466. . . . Horned Frogs

The six leading scorers are back for TCU, led by All-Big 12 guard and leading scorer, Mike Miles. He averaged 15.4 ppg and 3.8 apg last season, including a career-high 28 points against Utah and 26 points versus Texas Tech. He’s a good passer as well and if he can shoot better than 38% from the field and 30% from deep, Miles can be the Big 12 Player of the Year.

Damion Baugh went from a backup at Memphis to starting point guard on an NCAA Tournament team, producing 4.5 apg, along with 10.6 ppg and 4.4 rpg. Chuck O’Bannon is the team’s best-returning shooter at 34%, which is the one concern of this roster since the starting guards both struggled to shoot the ball last season.

The frontcourt has a chance to take a leap this year, with Emanuel Miller and Eddie Lampkin coming off solid campaigns. Lampkin, in particular, had a strong end of last season and after averaging fewer than 7.0 ppg, could easily go up to double figures in 2023. With more frontcourt production, could make it easier for the guards to operate and become more efficient.

Oklahoma State transfers Rondel Walker adds to the depth and athleticism in the backcourt and he gives them a third ball-handler on the roster. The Horned Frogs were one of the best defensive units last season and have enough offense already to be competitive nationally. A little better shooting could make them a darkhorse threat to win the Big 12 too.
