5. Andrew Andrews – Washington

What’s certain is that this 6’2 guard from Portland had a very solid basketball career, showing great growth across four years playing and starring at Washington. Unfortunately, Andrews and coach Lorenzo Romar suffered through a mediocre stretch of team ball, as Andrews never sniffed the NCAA Tournament in his four seasons in Seattle. Still, there’s plenty to like about his game.

Andrews worked his way from reserve status as a freshman to one of the league’s best scorers by the end of his career. He helped lead the Huskies to a pair of NIT appearances and had a career-high 47-point outburst against rival Washington State near the end of his senior season. Having put up great offensive numbers before that, his senior year was phenomenal on its own, with Andrews averaging 20.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.9 assists while averaging 40% from long range.

Andrews was named First Team All-Pac-12 for that impressive performance, leading the conference in points and free throw percentage. He was one of the most utilized and productive offensive players perhaps in any of the power conferences that season; he had just the misfortune of playing for a team that just couldn’t get over that postseason hump. Andrews has continued his career overseas and is currently signed on in Greece, continuing to be a solid presence on the offense.
