Kentucky Wildcats

The Wildcats already have a top-2 recruiting class for 2023, with a trio of five-star commits. One of them is top-10 small forward Justin Edwards and they’re a reported contender for another top-10 overall prospect in power forward Ron Holland. If they were to get him, Dailey’s odds of getting meaningful playing time as a freshman would be slim, especially if either Jacob Toppin or Lance Ware were to return the following year as well.

Kentucky is the ultimate risk vs reward situation for prospects ranked from 30-100. You can either get a role or stay on the bench and have to transfer out. If Dailey’s game is one that can contribute out the gate, then it could work out here. If not, other options that don’t have the risk of being over-recruited would make more sense.

Memphis Tigers

Look for head coach Penny Hardaway to have a big focus on the 2023 class after skipping out on this past group in favor of the transfer portal. And the forward position is much more open this time around after several departing transfers. Plus. senior forward Deandre Williams will be gone after this season and he’s the key frontcourt player on the current roster.

This is a situation where Dailey would get big minutes early on and have a sizeable role, in a program that is set to dominate in the new-look AAC after next year. He fits the kind of player that Coach Hardaway likes and there seems to be some mutual interest. Look for them to be a contender in this process.
