NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing top-75 forward Eric Dailey top 8 teams
TCU Horned Frogs
TCU is another team that makes sense for Dailey from a style standpoint. They’re starting a 6’7 forward in Emanuel Miller, entering his junior campaign. There’s not much depth in the frontcourt behind him so even if Miller sticks around, Dailey could easily see time as his backup as a freshman before eventually taking over.
The Horned Frogs have a pair of commitments in three-star wing Isaiah Manning and four-star guard/wing Jace Posey. They’re definitely staying true to having athletes and capable defenders and Dailey fits that as well. The Big 12 would be a nice fit for him and beating Kansas in a recruiting battle also would be an extra boost.
Texas A&M Aggies
The Aggies won 27 games last season and nearly made the NCAA Tournament without a single rotation player being taller than 6’8 (Ethan Henderson). So you know they’re fine with using smaller lineups. They’re also a team that doesn’t have a ton of frontcourt depth outside of Henderson, Henry Coleman, Michigan State transfer Julius Marble, and Javonte Brown so there’s a definite need to add a forward in the 2023 class.
Buzz Williams is another head coach that likes tough, versatile forwards and Dailey would fit that and be a good rotational piece next to Coleman. And playing in the SEC allows him to play on a big stage against a lot of future pros. The Aggies look to be a team on the rise and adding this top-100 talent would only help that.
