Brayon Freeman: Guard, Rhode Island Rams

Freeman was an integral piece on what ended up being a surprisingly good GW team last season, and he came up especially big over the final stretch heading into the A10 Tournament. Over his last 11 games, Freeman averaged 12.9 points and 4.7 assists while shooting 48% from the floor.

He made the move over to Kingston RI to play for new Rhode Island coach Archie Miller this offseason, so it will be interesting to see how he’s used in a new system, but as arguably the most talented Guard on the roster he’ll have an opportunity to quickly emerge as one of the team’s leaders on the court.

It’s tough to project how competitive Rhody will be because of the roster turnover and coaching change, but there’s reason to believe that Archie Miller will find a way to build on his already successful A10 resume and keep the team relevant in the standings. There are plenty of solid roster pieces in place, but somebody is going to have to give the team an added dimension of star-power if they hope to crack the top half of the standings.

Guys like Ish Leggett, Alex Tchikou, and Anthony Harris (if he’s able to play) all have decently high ceilings, but I trust Freeman to capitalize on his (likely plentiful) opportunities and really become that go-to option before long.
