10. Josh Caldwell – Army

Our focus begins with this 6’2 guard from Columbia who found success up north in New York. Caldwell arrived on campus at Army, playing an important role for the Black Knights across the last four seasons. The Black Knights aren’t exactly a postseason player or a prominent basketball school, but Caldwell’s impact was still pretty impressive to say the least.

After spending much of his freshman season as a bench piece, he became an important offensive and defensive player for Army for the rest of his career. He averaged at least 12 points per game in both his junior and senior seasons with solid rebounding numbers as well. He had a career-high 24 points this past season in a win over Hartford and was also a sneaky good defender in the backcourt.

Caldwell’s offensive numbers weren’t anything to get crazy over, but his impact on the defense was not unnoticed. He was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year in each of the last two seasons, leading the conference in steals during his junior season as well. This guard certainly shined, especially on the defensive side of the things, and was a very important piece for this Army program, becoming quite the jewel plucked from South Carolina.
