NCAA Basketball: 10 best players from state of Utah of last decade
By Joey Loose
9. Jordan Loveridge – Utah
This fringe Top 100 prospect did pretty good work throughout a college basketball career in his home state. Loveridge is a 6’6 forward from West Jordan who played under Larry Krystkowiak at Utah for four seasons near the beginning of the Utes’ run in the Pac-12.
Loveridge was a full-time starter for basically his entire career, averaging double-digit points per game in each year. His first two seasons saw him average 7.0 rebounds a game, while he developed into a proficient 3-point shooter late in his career. He averaged 14.7 points per game as a sophomore, then made 43% of his 3-pointers the following season. That same year he played a role in the Utes’ run to the Sweet Sixteen and scored 16 points as a senior in their first-round Tourney win over Fresno State.
The back-half of Loveridge’s career was impacted by a leg injury but he was still a very productive player across those four seasons. He wasn’t smashing records, but he was a valuable tool for the Utes and ranks among the conference’s best and most athletic shooting forwards in recent memory. After his career at Utah ended in 2016, he went international and has played in several countries across the last six years.
