NCAA Basketball: 5 best players from state of Vermont of last decade
By Joey Loose
5. Kam Farris – Robert Morris
A 6’3 guard from Burlington, Farris had himself a pretty decent run through his underclassman years. One of the most talented high school players from Vermont in recent seasons, he made his way west to Robert Morris, committing to Andrew Toole and the Colonials and joining the squad back in 2020. While his program has struggled in his first two collegiate seasons, Farris has been a solid contributor early in his career.
He started most of his games a freshman and already developed into one of the Horizon League’s best sharpshooters, making 46% of his 3-point attempts on the year. He averaged 8.3 points a game during that freshman season and would see that number rise to just over 9 a game as a sophomore. He scored a career-high 27 points in a non-D1 game as a sophomore with 7 3-pointers in that win.
Farris is a solid piece for a Robert Morris squad that would need several more solid pieces to compete in the Horizon League in these coming seasons. Farris stood out as a long-range shooter, making 81 3-pointers in his first two seasons at a decent clip. Farris transferred to Marist this offseason, giving the Red Foxes a very solid and developing shooter, though we’re sure he’d like to develop into more than just a sharpshooter on a squad that struggled to win games.
