1. Jon Elmore – Marshall

There would be no doubt that Elmore was West Virginia’s best product of the last ten seasons after he did fantastic work at Marshall in his home state. A 6’3 guard from Charleston, Elmore arrived on campus in 2015 and became a full-time star for the Thundering Herd. Elmore was a talented shooter and the premier offensive weapon for Dan D’Antoni across the next four seasons.

Elmore made around 35% of his 3-pointers in all four collegiate seasons. After averaging 15.2 points a game as a freshman, he’d be at or around 20 points a game in each of his last three campaigns. His assists numbers were off the charts too, playing a major role in leading this Thundering Herd offense. He scored 27 points as a junior in Marshall’s Tourney upset of Wichita State and had a career-high 44 points in a senior year win over UTEP. That junior year also saw him with a pair of triple-doubles before ending his career with a CIT championship as a senior.

Conference USA’s top scorer each of those last three seasons, Elmore was named First Team All-CUSA each of those years. He was the Tournament MVP during that impressive run as a junior while also leading the conference in assists and a number of other metrics. Elmore finished his career with 2,638 points, the all-time leading scorer for both Marshall and the C-USA. Elmore was a fantastic scorer and offensive weapon and has continued that journey over in Lithuania.
