10. Stevie Browning – Marshall

Though born down in Pensacola, Browning was raised in Logan in the state of West Virginia and played collegiately in his home state. A 6’3 guard, Browning began his career at Fairmont State, having great success with the Fighting Falcons at the D2 level. Browning finished off with two seasons at Marshall and played a significant role for the Thundering Herd after his transfer.

He won’t look too closely at Browning’s time at Fairmont State, but his years at Marshall were certainly worthy of today’s inclusion. As a junior, he averaged 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game, emerging as a key player on a team that finished in 3rd place in the C-USA. He scored a career-high 32 points early in his senior year in a win over Morehead State. He’d average 16.1 points a game with impressive stats on a Thundering Herd squad that won 20 games.

There were no fancy accolades for Browning, but he was part of the All-CUSA Tournament team as a senior, leading Marshall to the title game before falling to Middle Tennessee. He was among the conference’s top scorers during that senior year and put up decent assists and steals numbers in those two years at Marshall. Browning was an efficient player who took advantage of the chance to transfer up and became a key contributor for the Thundering Herd. His basketball career continues overseas, though he briefly returned to Marshall as a graduate assistant.
