7. Donte Grantham – Clemson

A talented 6’8 small forward from Martinsburg, Grantham was considered a top 100 prospect in the class of 2014. Grantham would commit to Clemson and spend four years as a starting forward in the Tigers’ lineup, starring under coach Brad Brownell in the ACC. Clemson hasn’t exactly been an elite program in recent years, but he still made his mark and had a very solid career.

Grantham had spurts of success early in his career. He averaged 10.2 points per game as a sophomore while also hitting 35% of his 3-pointers. He wasn’t the star for the Tigers but played an important role on the court throughout his career. He had career-highs with 23 points and 14 rebounds against Boston College in a game late in his career. Unfortunately, an injury ended that career prematurely after averaging 14.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 56% shooting across the first 19 games of his senior year.

Grantham was injured when Clemson made the Sweet Sixteen at the end of his career, but he played a certain role in Clemson’s success that season. Despite missing nearly half the season, he still ranked among the ACC’s most impressive long-range shooters and it’s certain that Clemson would have been even more impressive in that postseason run had he not been injured. Basketball continued for him in the G-League the following few years, though Grantham now plays over in France.
