3. Tavian Dunn-Martin – Akron / Duquesne / Florida Gulf Coast

Dunn-Martin’s college basketball journey started way back in 2016 when he arrived in Akron. The 5’8 guard from Huntington spent just one season with the Zips before transferring to Duquesne, joining former coach Keith Dambrot with the Dukes. He’d spent the next three seasons playing there before transferring again, spending his final season at Florida Gulf Coast.

He had few opportunities as a freshman at Akron but played more of a role for Dambrot while at Duquesne. He had a 30-point late in his sophomore year against UMass before averaging 10.2 points a game in each of his next two seasons. Dunn-Martin offensive numbers continued to rise, culminating in a fantastic final year at Florida Gulf Coast. He became the offensive cog of the Eagles, averaging 21.4 points and 6.0 assists per game on a 22-win squad, establishing his career-high with a 43-point performance at Liberty.

A solid piece for Dambrot early in his career, Dunn-Martin was the A-10’s Sixth Man of the Year as a sophomore before establishing himself as a key backcourt weapon later on. That final year at Florida Gulf Coast was where everything came together, with Dunn-Martin earning First Team All-A-Sun honors, leading the conference in points and assists that year. It’s not yet known where it’ll happen, but there are likely a few years of basketball prominence ahead for this short yet impressive guard.
