NCAA Basketball: 10 best players from state of Wisconsin of last decade

7. Jordan Poole – Michigan
This borderline top 100 prospect certainly proved his worth in the college game. Poole is a 6’5 guard from Milwaukee who made his way over to Michigan, playing for coach John Beilein across a pair of successful seasons for both Poole and the Wolverines.
Poole averaged just 6.1 points a game and was a reserve as a freshman, but helped lead Michigan all the way to the national championship game. He hit the buzzer-beating 3-pointer to knock off Houston in the second round of the Tournament, making that entire run possible. As a sophomore, he became a more important player, starting every game and averaging 12.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. He scored a career-high 26 points against South Carolina early in the year and helped take the Wolverines to the Sweet Sixteen, including a 19-point effort in the second round against Florida.
That buzzer-beater over Houston remains one of the most exciting March Madness moments in recent memory and was certainly Poole’s shining moment for the Wolverines. He was a solid offensive weapon with above-average defensive metrics and certainly a necessary piece for Beilein and this squad. After those two seasons, he departed college and was taken late in the first round of the NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors, where he still plays three years later.
